Oatmeal with masala and black tea is an amazing blend of European tradition and Eastern spices. Masala, a fragrant spice mix, adds depth to the dish, creating a warming and rich morning ritual. Black tea provides subtle astringent notes, making the porridge especially cozy and hearty. Historically, masala is used in Indian cuisine where spices play a key role in flavor balance. This porridge is perfect for starting the day with energy and warmth. It can be enhanced with a cinnamon stick, star anise or candied ginger to intensify the dish's spiciness. Thanks to oatmeal's fiber richness, it is not only tasty but also healthy, helping the body stay in shape. Such a dish makes an excellent choice for a cozy breakfast, especially during cool morning hours.

1
In a saucepan, mix milk, strong brewed black tea, sugar, masala, and to taste, a pinch or two of ground cinnamon and ginger.
- Milk: 150 ml
- Black tea bags: 1 piece
- Sugar: 1 tablespoon
- Masala: 0.5 teaspoon
2
Stir, bring to a boil, add the oats, and cook until done according to the time on the package.
- Oat flakes: 60 g
3
Serve the ready porridge decorated with any spice from the masala mix: a cinnamon stick, clove buds, star anise, cardamom pods, or candied ginger. If none of these are available in the kitchen, just sprinkle the oatmeal with the same spices in powdered form, which is often found more than whole.
