Spicy English Snack

Spicy English relish is a zesty blend of vegetables, fruits, and spices turned into a fragrant preserve. Rooted in British culinary tradition, this recipe dates back to ancient methods of preserving food with vinegar and spices. The flavor of the relish is a balance of the tangy-sweet notes of apples and gherkins, warmed by the heat of chili and garlic. Mustard seeds and allspice add piquancy while brown sugar softens the heat. This English delicacy pairs excellently with meat dishes, cheeses or simply as a standalone snack. Oven slow-cooking deepens the flavor while two weeks of infusion reveals the aroma in its fullness. An ideal choice for lovers of spicy and rich flavors!
