Pampushki are fragrant, airy buns traditionally served with Ukrainian borscht. Their history traces back to folk cuisine where they were considered a must-have accompaniment to hot aromatic soup. These small bread products absorb the flavors of garlic and herbs, creating a rich, appetizing aroma. Outside they have a golden crust; inside they are soft and light thanks to yeast dough flavored with honey for a hint of sweetness. Pampushki are perfect for dipping in borscht, enhancing the dish's flavor even more. They can also be served as a standalone addition to other Ukrainian dishes, highlighting the warm, homey atmosphere of the meal. This simple yet traditional recipe conveys the spirit of Ukrainian cuisine and its love for bread.
