Potato chips are an iconic snack from the USA that has won the hearts of millions. Their history dates back to 1853 when George Crum, a chef from Saratoga, decided to slice potatoes ultra-thin and fry them until crispy. Today, chips are an essential companion for parties, movie sessions, and on-the-go snacking. Their flavor is a blend of tender potato and spicy seasoning aromas that can be endlessly varied. Microwave-prepared chips have minimal oil content while maintaining a delightful crunch. They pair perfectly with dips and can serve as a side dish or standalone snack. An important secret is precise cooking time control as it makes them wonderfully crispy without being overcooked. Chips are simple magic that transforms an ordinary vegetable into an enticing treat.

1
Wash the potatoes with a brush, peel the skin off
- Potato: 3 pieces
2
Slice as thin as possible — it's easiest to do this with a slicer or a special grater with a holder for the product, which chefs call a mandoline, or you can use a regular vegetable peeler.
3
Place potato slices in a single layer on baking paper (parchment). Optionally, salt and add spices to your taste.
- Spices: to taste
4
Cook in the microwave at 700w for 3-5 minutes. Once the surface of the slices is slightly brown, but not earlier, otherwise the chips won't be crispy, remove and transfer to paper towels.
5
Repeat the procedure until the potatoes are finished.
