Grilled Asparagus

Grilled asparagus is a refined and easy-to-make side dish that embodies the spirit of French cuisine. Asparagus washed with olive oil and coarse salt acquires a soft texture and slightly caramelized flavor after grilling. This vegetable has long been valued for its tenderness and subtle nutty taste, becoming even more expressive when roasted. The dish pairs perfectly with meat or fish or can be enjoyed as a standalone appetizer. In French culinary tradition, asparagus is often served with hollandaise sauce or grated parmesan, but even in its simplest form, it remains an elegant and healthy choice. It cooks quickly but impresses with its aroma and rich flavor, highlighting the beauty of a minimalist approach to cooking.

1
Cut the bottom ends of the asparagus with a knife or snap them off by gently bending the asparagus until it cracks (this will make the asparagus more tender).
- Fresh asparagus: 450 g
2
Place the asparagus in a plastic bag and pour in olive oil. Mix well, sprinkle with salt, and mix again. Leave in the bag until cooking begins.
- Olive oil: 4 tablespoons
- Coarse salt: 1 teaspoon
3
Preheat the grill and lay the asparagus crosswise to prevent it from rolling. Grill for about 10-15 minutes depending on size. Turn occasionally. The asparagus should be slightly browned at the tips.
