Golden baked onion is a simple yet exquisite dish of Russian cuisine that transforms ordinary onions into a true culinary delight. The combination of butter and vegetable oil gives the onions an appetizing golden crust. Long baking with aromatic herbs like bay leaf, parsley, and cumin imparts a rich flavor and subtle spicy aroma to the dish. Beef broth makes the onions even more tender and juicy. Baked onion is perfect as a side dish for meat and fish dishes and can also serve as an independent snack. This dish is especially popular in cold weather when it warms and delights with its rich taste.
