Caprese in Sicilian style

Sicilian Caprese is an elegant variation of the classic Italian salad filled with Mediterranean flavors. This dish originates from sunny Italy, where fresh ingredients play a key role in cuisine. Juicy tomatoes and tender mozzarella create a perfect duet complemented by fragrant green basil and a tangy dressing made from olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and lemon juice. Its taste is a balance of freshness, creamy softness of cheese, and light acidity, making it an ideal light appetizer or accompaniment to main Italian dishes. Due to its simplicity in preparation and rich flavor, Caprese is a favorite for summer dinners and exquisite aperitifs; in Sicily, it is often served with special local olive oil that adds even more depth to the flavor.
