4 servings

35 minutes

Shopska feta is a vibrant and aromatic dish of Bulgarian cuisine that reflects the warm Mediterranean tradition. It combines tender salty feta with juicy tomatoes, spicy sausages, and a velvety egg topping. Baked sweet pepper adds a light smoky note to the dish, while paprika finishes it with appetizing spiciness. The origins of this dish trace back to Bulgarian villages where simple yet flavorful ingredients create cozy and hearty meals. Shopska feta is perfect for a warm family dinner or a friendly gathering when you want to enjoy the rich flavors and aromas of the Balkans. The dish is served hot with crispy bread, allowing you to fully experience the play of textures — tender feta, airy egg topping, and roasted vegetables. Its simplicity in preparation and rich taste make it a true gem of Bulgarian cuisine.
