Lecho with bacon and sausages
4 servings
60 minutes
A classic dish of Hungarian cuisine, which, however, could be considered its own in Russian. Each housewife has her own recipe, so we included in our "Golden Thousand" the basic version, without claims to the best execution.

1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.

2
Cut the bacon into thin strips.
- Bacon: 50 g

3
Cut the onion into strips.
- Onion: 2 heads

4
Cut the peppers into thin strips.
- Sweet pepper: 6 g

5
Place the bacon in a heating skillet. Render the fat from the bacon, gradually increasing the heat; this will take about 5 minutes. Add the onion and sauté over medium heat, stirring until the onion becomes translucent.
- Bacon: 50 g
- Onion: 2 heads

6
Add paprika, mix, and immediately add the chopped tomatoes.
- Sweet paprika: 1 teaspoon
- Tomatoes: 5 piece

7
Add chopped peppers. Season with salt, mix, cover with a lid, and simmer on low heat for 25-30 minutes.
- Sweet pepper: 6 g
- Salt: to taste

8
Add large-cut sausages and simmer covered for another 10 minutes.
- Sausages: 4 pieces

9
Then remove the lid and simmer, stirring occasionally, for another 15 minutes until the excess moisture evaporates.

10
Serve with bread.
