Apple manna is a fragrant and delicate dish of Russian cuisine that comes from the depths of home baking traditions. Its base is semolina soaked in kefir, making the texture airy, while juicy apples add a pleasant fruity tartness and natural sweetness. A light hint of cinnamon fills the manna with a warm, spicy aroma. It’s a great option for a morning breakfast or cozy family tea time. Unlike classic pies, manna doesn’t require flour, which gives it a uniquely soft and crumbly taste. Baked in the oven, it acquires a golden crust and transforms into a true gastronomic delight when combined with vanilla and cinnamon. This dessert can be served with yogurt, honey or fresh fruits to create new variations of flavor nuances.
