Separate the yolk from the white. Whip the egg whites with sugar, add cottage cheese, milk, and butter. Mix well.
- Sugar: 120 g
- Soft cottage cheese: 150 g
- Milk: 80 ml
- Vegetable oil: 80 ml

Sift the flour with baking powder, vanillin, and salt. Add the flour to the egg-curd mixture and knead the dough.
- Wheat flour: 350 g
- Dr. Oetker baking powder: 10 g
- Vanilla sugar: 10 g
- Salt: pinch

Divide the dough into 8 parts. From each piece, roll out three strands (each strand 15 cm). Then braid them.

Lightly beat the egg yolk with a fork. Place the buns on a baking sheet lined with parchment or foil, and brush with the egg yolk. Sprinkle with any decoration of your choice - poppy seeds, sprinkles, or colored coconut flakes.
