Cottage cheese casserole with candied fruits is a delicate and aromatic dish from Russian cuisine that captivates with its airy texture and sweet, fruity flavor. Historically, cottage cheese casseroles were popular in Russian homes due to their ease of preparation and nutritional value. In this recipe, the classic cottage cheese base is enriched with bright candied fruits, dried cherries, and raisins, adding sweet and slightly sour notes to the taste. The casserole is soft and slightly moist inside with a golden crust outside. It can be served warm or chilled, complemented by sour cream, jam or fresh berries. Perfect for breakfast or a cozy tea time, it brings a sense of home comfort and warmth.
