Stracciatella ice cream is a refined dessert of Italian origin, known for its delicate creamy flavor and crunchy chocolate flakes. The name comes from the Italian word 'stracciare', meaning 'to tear into pieces', reflecting the unique texture of the chocolate fragments. This gelato is made with milk, cream, and egg yolks, providing a velvety consistency. During freezing, hot glaze is gradually poured into the mixture, which instantly hardens to create characteristic chocolate streaks. Stracciatella ice cream pairs perfectly with a strong espresso or is served with berries and nuts. It is a harmony of rich flavor and elegance that makes it a favorite dessert among gourmets worldwide.
