Alfajores are exquisite cookies that originated from Latin American cuisine with roots in Spanish gastronomy. These delicate, crumbly, and slightly sweet cookies create a harmony of flavors through a combination of buttery dough, aromatic rum, and vanilla. The main highlight is the filling of dulce de leche, giving the treat a rich caramel flavor and velvety texture. The finishing touch is coconut flakes that add delicate sweetness and a hint of exoticism. Alfajores are often served with coffee or tea, creating a cozy atmosphere over dessert. They are not just a sweet treat but a true symbol of South American hospitality, conveying warmth and joy in every bite.
