Cherry pie is a delicate and airy treat rooted in Ukrainian culinary traditions. This simple yet surprisingly delicious dessert features the juiciness of cherries perfectly paired with the softness of the dough. Historically, such pies were made in the summer season when berries reached their peak sweetness. Kefir gives the dough a special lightness, while mayonnaise adds a subtle creamy note. Baked cherries in the dough provide a pleasant sweet-sour harmony of flavors, and sugar only enhances its natural nobility. This pie is perfect for cozy family tea times or as a gentle conclusion to a festive meal. It can be served warm or chilled, possibly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra enjoyment.
