Cyprus Tomato Salad
4 servings
10 minutes
A close relative of the Italian Caprese, but with its own character. Along with tomatoes, it is defined by salted feta, dry oregano and - timpani ringing - sesame oil, which gives the salad a baked note and a nutty flavor. Traditionally, the salad is laid out on a plate in layers, tomatoes - at the bottom, cheese - on top, so that it is easy to pick up the whole pyramid with a fork. But you can do without unnecessary ceremony and crumble the salad into a camping bowl, this will not change the taste.

1
Slice the tomatoes into rounds and arrange them on a plate.
- Tomatoes: 4 pieces

2
Sprinkle with sesame oil and vinegar, and season with salt and oregano.
- Sesame oil: 50 ml
- Red wine vinegar: 1 tablespoon
- Dried oregano: 2 tablespoons
- Coarse sea salt: to taste

3
Slice the cheese and place it on the tomatoes. Let the dish sit for 30 minutes for the tomatoes to absorb the spices and aromas.
- Feta cheese: 250 g
