Potato boats baked with bacon are a cozy and hearty dish from European cuisine. They remind of rustic recipes where simple ingredients turn into a true culinary masterpiece. Baked potatoes retain their natural tenderness inside while acquiring a crispy golden crust outside. Thin slices of bacon placed on the potato halves like sails infuse them with juices, creating a rich, aromatic flavor with a slight saltiness. The finishing touch is a piece of butter that adds softness and velvetiness. The boats are perfect for cozy home dinners and can be served as a standalone dish or as a side to meat. Their simplicity in preparation makes them accessible to any cook, while their impressive appearance invariably stimulates appetite and admiration.
