Baked accordion potato with bacon

Baked potato with bacon is a cozy and aromatic dish of Russian cuisine where simple ingredients turn into a true masterpiece. Its roots trace back to traditional village recipes where potato is the main hero of the home meal. Thanks to thin cuts, the potato absorbs the juices of the bacon, and a delicious golden crust forms during baking. Bacon adds a rich smoky flavor while herbs and spices provide fresh notes. This dish is versatile: it can be served as a standalone treat or as a side dish to meat. It’s perfect for cozy family dinners or friendly gatherings when you crave something hearty yet simple to prepare. Try it and enjoy the richness of flavors!

1
Peel the potatoes, preferably choose not too large, elongated shape.
- Potato: 5 piece
2
Make cuts all over the potato without cutting all the way through. Lightly coat with salt.
- Salt: to taste
3
Insert a slice of bacon into each cut, alternating bacon with cheese or bacon with mushroom slices.
- Bacon: to taste
4
Sprinkle with pepper on top, wrap in foil (you can add a clove of garlic to the foil if desired) and send to the oven for about 40 minutes (I can't say the exact time as it depends on the size of the potatoes). You will know it's ready by the incredible smell!
- Green: to taste
