Fried tofu is a gem of Chinese cuisine that harmoniously combines tenderness and a crispy texture. This dish has roots in the ancient Chinese tradition of using soy products, making it an integral part of Asian gastronomic heritage. Before frying, tofu is pressed to remove excess moisture, then cut into cubes and coated with a thin layer of flour for a golden crust. The flavor is enhanced by an aromatic sauce made from soy sauce, garlic, green onions, sugar, and spices. The final step is braising, which gives the dish a rich flavor and tender texture. The perfect combination of crispy and juicy makes fried tofu a wonderful complement to rice or vegetables, while its spiciness reveals the richness of Eastern aromas.
