The question of how and whether this cocktail is connected with Alaska is not answered even by "The Savoy Cocktail Book", where the recipe first appeared in 1930. At least it tastes like it sounds: cold and refreshing , and the ice ball is perfect for serving.

Ingredients

• Gin: 60 ml
• Yellow Herbal Liqueur: 20 ml
• Orange zest: pinch
• Angostura: 2 ml

Cooking steps

1. Cut a sphere with a diameter of about 7 cm from a block of ice; this can be done with a regular short-bladed knife.

2. Mix all ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice. Pour into a serving glass and garnish with zest.
