Cherry compote is a classic drink of European cuisine, symbolizing home comfort and summer. Its roots trace back to ancient traditions of making berry infusions that refreshed on hot days and warmed in winter. Its bright ruby color and rich sweet-sour taste make it not only pleasant but also beneficial—rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Compote is easy to prepare: boiling water extracts all the juiciness and aroma from the cherries, and the infusion gains a deep rich flavor after cooling. Cherry compote perfectly complements meals; it is served with desserts or chilled in summer heat, and sometimes used as a base for cocktails and jellies.
