Hot chocolate is the true embodiment of coziness, tenderness, and French elegance. This drink has roots deep in history when cocoa first became a symbol of pleasure and luxury. French hot chocolate is distinguished by its rich flavor due to the high cocoa content in the chocolate. The velvety texture is created by slowly dissolving chocolate in hot milk, while corn flour adds density, making the drink smooth and enveloping. The subtle sweet notes of sugar can be adjusted to taste, creating a perfect balance. It is served immediately after preparation, allowing each sip to provide warmth and pleasure. Hot chocolate is not just a drink; it’s a moment of enjoyment perfect for a rainy evening or a cozy morning when one wants to immerse in an atmosphere of romance and harmony.

1
Heat the milk over medium heat until it gently simmers, then reduce the heat to the minimum and add broken small pieces of chocolate to the pot (it's better to put the chocolate in the freezer for a couple of hours beforehand: the cold gives it a finer taste). Stirring the contents of the pot, bring the drink to a homogeneous state and a gentle, bubbling simmer.
- Milk: 500 ml
- Dark chocolate 70%: 120 g
2
Add sugar and thicken with corn flour. To prevent it from clumping, it's helpful to first add a bit of hot liquid to a tablespoon of flour, turning it into a paste, and then use this paste to thicken the remaining chocolate.
- Sugar: to taste
- Corn flour: 1 teaspoon
3
Pour the prepared chocolate into cups and serve immediately.
