Whole grain toast is a simple yet sophisticated dish of French cuisine. They embody the refined lightness of breakfast found in cozy Parisian cafes. Their history is linked to the tradition of enjoying crispy bread that pairs perfectly with morning beverages. Toasted to a golden crust, whole grain bread takes on an appetizing aroma while its tender crumb remains soft and airy. These toasts can be served with butter and jam for a sweet breakfast or with ham and cheese for a heartier option. Their versatility makes them an excellent choice for any time of day – whether it's morning coffee, a light snack, or an addition to dinner.

1
Carefully slice the loaf into pieces about 1 cm thick using sawing motions, trying to apply as little pressure as possible to avoid damaging the crumb. The crust can be trimmed off depending on your taste.
