Corn porridge banosh

Banosh (or banush) is a Ukrainian corn porridge, similar in meaning to mamalyga. Banosh is considered a festive dish, since in the past, cream for it had to be collected for a whole week. Served with fried onions and cracklings .

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Pour cream into a pot, bring to a boil, and add salt.
- Heavy cream: 600 ml
- Onion: 1 head

Mix corn flour with water.
- Corn flour: 240 g
- Water: 300 ml

Add flour to the cream and start stirring vigorously with a wooden spoon, reducing the heat to the minimum.
- Corn flour: 240 g

Stir continuously for about 25 minutes while cooking. Remove the finished banosh from the heat.

Cut the onion into strips.
- Onion: 1 head

Cut the fat into small cubes.
- Smoked lard: 200 g

First, put the fat in the pan and fry until the fat appears.
- Smoked lard: 200 g

Then fry the onion with fat in a pan until golden brown.

Serve banosh with cracklings on top.
