Homemade melted cheese is a simple yet exquisite product that embodies comfort and gastronomic pleasure. Its roots trace back to European traditions where melted cheeses hold an important place in cuisine. This delicate, creamy cheese with a soft texture spreads easily on bread, serves as a base for hot sandwiches or a savory dressing for sauces. With spices like basil or turmeric, it can acquire subtle aromatic notes, enhancing its flavor further. The preparation technique is simple but requires patience: cottage cheese slowly melts with butter and egg until perfectly smooth. The result is a versatile product that can be served at breakfast, used for snacks or added to favorite dishes for extra creamy richness.

1
Cottage cheese, preferably homemade, should be passed through a sieve with a spoon. In theory, it can also be done with a meat grinder.
- Cottage cheese: 400 g
2
Then add an egg, butter, baking soda, and salt to the cottage cheese.
- Chicken egg: 1 piece
- Butter: 50 g
- Soda: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: to taste
3
Place the pot with this mixture on low heat and stir everything with a spoon until homogeneous. Add spices along the way - I sprinkled dried basil. If you want to give the melted cheese a yellowish color, add turmeric.
- Spices: to taste
4
Stir continuously until the mass is completely melted and the first bubbles appear. If left on the fire too long, water may separate, and the melted cheese will have a consistency similar to feta.
5
Pour the mass into a bowl and let it cool. The melted cheese is ready.
