Croutons with cheese

Cheese toasts are a cozy and simple dish from American cuisine that has become popular worldwide. Their history is closely tied to home breakfasts and quick snacks when craving something crispy and aromatic. Dried bread covered with butter, cheese, and a pinch of cumin turns into a delicious snack with a tender gooey center and golden crust. Toasts perfectly complement soups, salads, or can be served as a standalone dish with tea or coffee. Their simplicity in preparation and rich flavor make them an excellent choice for cozy evenings. Replacing cumin with caraway adds spiciness, while the choice of cheese affects the creaminess and richness of the taste.

1
Bread should be stale — if you find freshly baked bread in the morning, it should be opened and left to dry. After this, cut the loaf into three-centimeter squares.
- Loaf: 1 piece
2
Spread a small amount of butter on each piece and cover with a slice of cheese.
- Butter: 50 g
- Russian cheese: 300 g
3
Then literally sprinkle cumin over the bread with one or two movements, that will be enough. Instead of cumin, you can use caraway - but its taste is sharper.
- Caraway: pinch
4
Place the croutons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and put them in an oven preheated to 160 degrees for about twenty minutes.
