Spaetzle – traditional German dumplings, a simple and heartwarming dish that has warmed the hearts of Europeans for centuries. Its origins trace back to medieval Germany where peasants made hearty flour products without complex ingredients. These soft, airy dumplings made from flour, eggs, and butter pair perfectly with the aroma of freshly ground black pepper and parsley. They have a tender, slightly chewy texture and absorb sauces well, making them a versatile side dish for meat or vegetables or simply a standalone treat. Spaetzle can be served fresh or sautéed in butter for a golden crust. This dish is a true home classic that brings warmth and comfort.
