Chocolate sugar cookies are the embodiment of American culinary tradition that combines the tenderness of honey, the richness of cocoa, and the airy texture of egg whites. This treat originated in the homes of caring bakers and is characterized by its fragility and delicacy. When baked, the cookies become soft and then crispy, reminiscent of delicate waffles with a deep chocolate aroma. Added almond flakes give it a refined nutty flavor that harmonizes with the warm sweetness of honey. The perfect treat for morning coffee or afternoon tea, these cookies can be both classic and shaped into elegant forms, turning into a special festive dessert.

1
Beat the soft butter and honey with a mixer.
- Butter: 115 g
- Honey: 150 g
2
Sift powdered sugar, cocoa, and flour into another bowl.
- Powdered sugar: 1 glass
- Cocoa powder: 0.5 glass
- Wheat flour: 0.8 glass
3
Continue beating the butter mixture and gradually add the flour, then the egg whites. Beat well until homogeneous.
- Egg white: 2 pieces
4
On a baking sheet lined with paper, starting from the corner, place a cookie cutter, add a small spoonful of dough into it, and use a brush to spread the dough in a thin layer across the cutter. It's better to choose a round or triangular shape for convenience.
5
Do the same with the rest of the dough. The distance between the cookies should be at least 2.5 cm.
6
Place the baking tray in a preheated oven at 150°C for about 8-10 minutes.
7
If desired, you can sprinkle the cookies with almond flakes, and you can also slightly bend them by wrapping them around a rolling pin right after taking the tray out of the oven.
- Almond flakes: 0.5 glass
