Yeast rolls are a classic of Russian baking, symbolizing home comfort and warmth. Their history traces back to traditional Russian bakeries where soft, airy rolls with a delicate creamy flavor were a true delicacy. The aroma of vanilla and sweet crust makes them particularly appealing. These rolls pair perfectly with tea or coffee and can also serve as an excellent base for sweet fillings like jam or condensed milk. The fluffy yeast dough makes the rolls incredibly soft, while the golden crust is appetizing. They make a wonderful addition to breakfast or a cozy family tea time. Easy to prepare yet delightful in taste — they can offer a moment of enjoyment to everyone.

1
Pour milk into a saucepan, add vanilla sugar, and heat without boiling. Then, add butter to the milk and wait for it to melt.
- Milk: 160 ml
- Vanilla sugar: 0.5 teaspoon
- Butter: 80 g
2
We break 1 whole egg and only the white of 2 eggs into a bowl where we will beat the dough (we will use the yolk to brush the buns before putting them in the oven). We add all our sugar and beat.
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
- Sugar: 130 g
3
When the milk has cooled (hot milk cannot be added), pour it into our mixture of eggs and sugar, and gradually whisk.
- Milk: 160 ml
4
Mix dry yeast with flour and gradually add to the container. Knead the dough until it no longer sticks to your hands.
- Dry yeast: 7 g
- Wheat flour: 550 g
5
Grease the container where the dough will rise with a little vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Cover with plastic wrap or a towel and place in a warm spot for 1-1.5 hours. It will increase 2-3 times.
- Vegetable oil: 2 ml
6
After our dough is ready, we turn on the oven to 180 degrees without convection.
7
Cut the dough into small strips, stretch them a bit, and roll the buns like a snail.
8
Once all the rolls are twisted, place them on parchment paper and brush with a little egg yolk; they will become more golden.
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
9
If desired, you can sprinkle sugar on top.
- Sugar: 130 g
10
We send the buns to a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
