The 'Mazurka' pie is a traditional Polish treat infused with the aromas of nuts and raisins. Its history dates back centuries when sweet treats were prepared for holidays and family celebrations. The simple dough enriched with walnuts and juicy raisins creates a fragile yet tender texture. During baking, the kitchen fills with a warm caramel aroma that awakens the appetite. Mazurka is splendid as a standalone dessert, especially accompanied by milk or a cup of fragrant tea. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it reveals its flavor best after cooling when it becomes crumbly and rich. This pie is a symbol of home comfort, traditions, and joy passed down through generations.

1
Beat two large or three medium eggs with sugar until white.
- Chicken egg: 3 pieces
- Sugar: 1 glass
2
Add nuts and raisins.
- Walnuts: 130 g
- Raisin: 190 g
3
Sift the flour, mix it with the baking powder, and add it to the dough. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes.
- Wheat flour: 1 glass
- Baking powder: 1.5 teaspoon
4
Grease the baking pan (I have a diameter of 22 cm) with butter, add the dough, and smooth the top with a wet hand.
5
Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 180°C for 40-50 minutes. The pie will rise, brown, and the kitchen will fill with its aroma. Check readiness with a wooden stick.
6
We cut the still warm pie into squares or diamonds. It's better to eat the mazurka completely cooled (especially tasty with milk).
