Viennese waffles without a waffle iron
4 servings
40 minutes
Viennese waffles are a refined treat of Austrian cuisine that impress with their airy texture and delicate flavor. In the classic version, they are made in a waffle iron, but this recipe allows you to enjoy them even without one. The waffles are baked in the oven, giving them lightness and a crispy crust. Subtle notes of vanilla and creaminess make them particularly sophisticated. They pair wonderfully with powdered sugar, chocolate syrup, and homemade ice cream. The history of Viennese waffles is linked to traditional European desserts valued for their elegance and gentle taste. They can be served with morning coffee or used as a base for original desserts. These waffles are a true symbol of cozy home tea time.
