The cunning cherry pie is a wonderful treat of Russian cuisine that impresses with its simplicity and originality. Its history is rooted in the traditions of Russian housewives who skillfully created true gastronomic masterpieces from simple ingredients. The tender kefir dough with butter turns out airy and crispy, while the sweet-sour cherry filling gives the pie a bright, rich flavor. The unique way of forming it – twisted 'sausages' of dough with cherries arranged in a spiral – makes it unusual both aesthetically and taste-wise. It is perfect for a cozy family tea time as well as for a festive table. The aroma of vanilla and the delicate sugary crunch after baking add even more charm to it. This pie embodies Russian culinary ingenuity and warmth.
