Chocolate sausage with hints of orange is a refined dessert that originated from Soviet times when sweet treats were made from accessible ingredients. The rich chocolate flavor combines with the crunchy texture of nuts and cookies, while fresh orange zest adds a bright citrus aroma. This dessert requires no baking and gains density and richness of flavor after cooling, making each slice a true delight. It pairs perfectly with a strong cup of coffee or tea and serves as a beautiful decoration for the festive table. Thanks to convenient portion storage in the freezer, it can be enjoyed gradually by taking small pieces. This dessert symbolizes coziness, warmth, and family traditions, awakening sweet childhood memories.

1
Crush all the cookies with a blender or meat grinder, or beat them in a plastic bag. Some prefer to crush the cookies not to flour, but to have pieces up to 7 mm. No larger pieces are needed.

2
Chop the walnuts to a flour-like consistency plus pieces of 7-8 mm.
- Walnuts: 80 g
3
In a bowl, mix cookies, cocoa, sugar, vanillin, and nuts.

Add very melted and softened butter. Knead well.

The mass should stick well and shine a little, meaning it is not dry. If the mass is too dry, you can add condensed milk or regular milk. Start adding from 2 tablespoons and mix. Monitor the consistency.
- Sugar: 80 g

Prepare 4 pieces of food film 30–40 cm long. Spoon the mass onto the film to form a 'log'. Fold the sides to prevent the mass from falling out and carefully roll it along the long side as if rolling a Japanese roll. Place in the freezer for 4 hours. It's convenient to make sausages 15 cm long. This recipe yields 4 sausages. This size is easy to transport and store in the freezer. If you don't plan to eat it all at once, it's convenient to take portions to avoid thawing the entire sausage.
