Blackcurrant jam (Five minutes)
6 servings
5 minutes
Black currant jam 'Five Minutes' is a classic Russian recipe that preserves the freshness and rich flavor of the berries. Its roots go back to summer preservation traditions when housewives aimed to quickly and easily prepare a sweet treat for winter. Just five minutes of boiling reveals the aromatic currants' tart, rich taste complemented by the soft sweetness of sugar. The jam has a thick texture and pairs wonderfully with baked goods, tea, or simply fresh bread with butter. Its uniqueness lies in minimal thermal processing, which retains vitamins and beneficial substances. It is not just a delicacy but also a true treasure of health, especially in cold weather.
