We mix the dough, it should not be too stiff, let it rise in a warm place for half an hour, then knead and let it rise for another half hour.
- Wheat flour: 500 g
- Dry yeast: 1 tablespoon
- Salt: pinch

While the dough rises, let's prepare the filling. Boil half a cup of poppy seeds in water (or milk, as you prefer), and you can add 3 tablespoons of sugar while boiling. Then, drain the water well to remove any liquid.
- Poppy: 75 g
- Sugar: 4 tablespoons
- Milk: 1 ml

So, the dough is ready, we divide it into two parts, thus we will have two pies. Of course, you can make one, but then it will be quite large.

Roll out the dough, spread with butter, and sprinkle with three tablespoons of sugar.
- Butter: 1 tablespoon
- Sugar: 4 tablespoons

Spread the poppy seeds and distribute them evenly over the dough surface.
- Poppy: 75 g

Roll the dough into a log, cut off the ends on both sides, and we will make a central rose on the pie from them. Join the ends of the log into a ring and start shaping. Using scissors, make cuts every 1 centimeter, but do not cut all the way through. Leave two leaves on the outside, turn the third one up towards the center, and continue around. That is, carefully turn the pieces cut from the ends of the log to form the rose.

One piece goes inside (it won't be visible), the second will be on top. This is how it should look.

We place it in a warm place for a while to let the dough rise a bit more, then brush it with egg yolk and send it to the oven.

Bake at 170 degrees for 15-20 minutes until the pie turns a beautiful golden color.
