Orange cake is a delightful treat that brings a sunny note to any meal. This dessert originates from Turkey, a country known for its rich flavors and aromas. With fresh orange zest and juice, the cake has a refreshing citrus scent that perfectly complements the tender texture of the batter. Its softness is achieved through butter and whipped eggs, while vanilla sugar adds a subtle sweetness. This cake can be served as a standalone dessert with tea or coffee and can also be used as a base for more complex pastries, such as those with cream or glaze. Its simplicity in preparation and rich flavor make it a beloved homemade delicacy that brings warmth and comfort.

1
You need to remove the zest from the orange. This is the top part of the citrus peel, the orange part. You can do this with a special tool, I use a regular large grater. Then squeeze the juice from the orange. You will get about half a cup. Set the juice and zest aside for now, they will be needed soon.
- Oranges: 1 piece

Grind sugar and butter until smooth, add eggs, and mix everything again into a uniform mass. You can beat sugar, butter, and eggs using a blender. When preparing manually, you can use powdered sugar to make the task easier (in this case, the amount should be slightly more than that specified for sugar).
- Sugar: 150 g
- Butter: 150 g
- Chicken egg: 3 pieces

After mixing the eggs with butter and sugar, add the zest, orange juice, and vanilla sugar. Mix well. Then add flour and baking powder. Mix thoroughly again.

- Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
- Wheat flour: 1.5 glass

Pour the batter into a greased pan and bake for about 40 minutes in a preheated oven at 180 degrees. Check for doneness with a toothpick or thin wooden skewer. When the cake is ready, the stick will be clean and dry without any batter sticking.
- Butter: 150 g

Cool on a rack, then remove the cake and dry it on the rack a bit more.
