It is better to use lightly salted herring fillet. Soak it in milk or water for 15-20 minutes beforehand.
- Herring fillet: 500 g
- Milk: 200 ml

Boil two eggs, and one will be used to grease the pie. Cut the potato into very thin slices.

Remove the herring from the milk without squeezing, send it to a blender with boiled eggs and an onion. Grind everything to a homogeneous mass. The filling will have a consistency similar to sour cream.

Roll the dough in one direction, there should be two sheets. Line the mold or baking tray with paper.

Lay the bottom layer of dough in the mold, leaving the necessary edges. Now you need to layer the potatoes in one layer, which will prevent the dough from getting soggy. It is very important that the circles are thin; otherwise, the potatoes may not cook through. Then add the filling and smooth it out with a spoon. Place the top layer of dough, then fold the edges. You can cut off the excess dough at the edges, but if you are using unleavened dough, the edges will still not be thick.
