Apple candies are a refined dessert of European cuisine that harmoniously combines the sweetness of fruits and nuts. Historically, such sweets were popular in home confectioneries where apple puree was used as a natural thickener. The taste of these candies is delicate, with a slight tartness from the apples complemented by crunchy walnuts and aromatic candied fruits. Orange zest adds subtle citrus notes, while powdered sugar completes the airy sweetness. These candies are perfect for a cozy tea time; they can be presented as gifts or used as a healthy snack since they contain no artificial additives. The treat requires no complex preparation but impresses with its homey warmth and rich flavor.
