Egg yolk cookies are a true embodiment of the warmth and coziness of European cuisine. Its roots go back centuries when housewives sought ways to create tender, crumbly pastries. The egg yolks give the cookies a rich flavor and soft texture, while butter adds a rich aroma. They pair wonderfully with tea or coffee, and their crunchy yet delicate slice melts in your mouth. By decorating with nuts, candied fruits, or chocolate glaze, you can give the cookies individuality and special charm. Perfect for family gatherings or cozy evenings alone when you crave a bit of sweet joy.

1
Soften the butter beforehand. Whip it with powdered sugar. As a result of whipping, the butter will lighten slightly and resemble cream.
- Butter: 200 g
- Powdered sugar: 200 g
2
Add the yolks and beat until the powdered sugar dissolves and a fluffy mass forms.
- Egg yolk: 5 piece
3
Sift the flour with the baking powder on top, and quickly mix a light dough with a spoon or spatula. This dough should not be kneaded for long — it will become tough.
- Wheat flour: 3 glasss
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: pinch
4
It results in a slightly sticky, soft dough that needs to be chilled. Place it on plastic wrap and shape it into a log with a diameter of 5–6 centimeters.
5
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and leave it in the fridge for 1 hour.
6
After cooling, the dough should become firm. Cut the dough into round slices with a sharp knife and place them on a baking sheet.
7
Next, use your imagination to decorate the cookies to your taste. This can include almonds, candied fruits, or various confectionery decorations.
8
Place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees. Bake for 20 minutes.
9
After the cookies are ready, remove them from the tray with a spatula.
