Green onion pie is a fragrant and tender dish of Russian cuisine that combines a rich creamy flavor with the light spiciness of green onions. Historically, such pies were made in villages using seasonal ingredients. The crispy dough soaked in sour cream sauce perfectly complements the softness of baked onions and the delicate cheese crust. This pie is served as a standalone dish or as an appetizer to soups and meat dishes. Its versatility makes it a great choice for cozy family dinners and festive gatherings.
