Homemade blueberry buns are a true delight of Russian cuisine, combining tender flaky dough with the refreshing tartness of blueberries. Their origin is rooted in baking traditions where housewives aimed to create a simple yet exquisite treat. Airy, soft, and slightly crispy on the outside, they reveal a sweet filling with light fruity notes. Blueberries not only add a special aroma to the pastry but also enrich the buns with vitamins. These buns are perfect for morning tea or as a cozy treat on the family table. The aroma of fresh baking enveloping the home during their preparation fills the atmosphere with warmth and homely comfort.

1
Prepare yeast dough or buy ready-made if you have a trusted supplier.
- Yeast dough: 1000 g
2
Place the prepared dough on a board and roll it out with a rolling pin or flatten it by hand to a thickness of 1.5–2 cm according to the size of your baking tray.
3
Sprinkle blueberries on the dough, fold it like an envelope twice, divide into nine portions, and shape the buns, trying to make them layered by wrapping the dough with the filling of each portion around your hand, ignoring the proportions of the buns.
- Blueberry: 250 g
4
Place the obtained lumps on the parchment laid in the baking tray, greased with oil. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
5
Dust the buns with flour mixed with a pinch of vanilla sugar and brush with beaten egg yolks.
- Vanilla sugar: to taste
- Egg yolk: 2 pieces
6
Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
7
Check readiness with a wooden skewer, remove from the pan, and let cool, covering the buns with a napkin.
