The 'Medovik' cake is a true embodiment of sweet warmth and coziness. Its history traces back to 19th century Russia when caramelized honey first became the base for a layered dessert. Honey gives the cake a rich aroma, while airy layers soaked in a delicate cream of condensed milk and butter make it melt in your mouth. A light nut crumble completes the composition, adding textural sophistication. This cake is perfect for family celebrations and heartfelt gatherings. Its sweet yet balanced flavor leaves a pleasant aftertaste, with each layer infused with subtle notes of honey caramel. 'Medovik' is not just a treat but also part of cultural heritage that connects past traditions with present joy.

1
Melt 125 grams of butter in a water bath, add sugar and honey, stir, and heat while occasionally stirring. The mixture should become homogeneous.
- Butter: 425 g
- Sugar: 1 glass
- Honey: 2 tablespoons
2
Add baking powder (if you don't have it, baking soda will work in the same amount) and mix until the mixture turns white. Remove from the water bath and let cool.
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
3
Add eggs and mix well. Then gently incorporate the flour and knead a soft dough. Divide into 6-8 parts and roll out the dough (it's easiest to roll the dough directly in the pan, which can be done with a spoon by pressing it down, as the dough is too soft and may stick to the rolling pin). Bake the layers in a preheated oven at 170-180 degrees for about 5-10 minutes.
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
- Wheat flour: 3.5 glasss
4
For the cream, beat 300 grams of softened butter with a mixer until fluffy.
- Butter: 425 g
5
Then, without stopping to whip, add the boiled condensed milk to the butter in small portions and whip everything together until a fluffy homogeneous mass is obtained.
- Boiled condensed milk: 1.5 jar
6
Stack the ready layers on top of each other and trim the edges evenly with a knife. Spread cream on the layers and stack them, also coat the top layer with cream and the sides of the cake. Decorate with crushed walnuts.
- Walnuts: to taste
