Italian plum-berry sorbet is a refreshing dessert filled with summer aromas and rich flavors. It is based on juicy plums harmoniously complemented by the sweetness of sugar and the freshness of frozen berries. The origins of this treat trace back to Italy's rich culinary tradition, where fruit sorbets held an important place in aristocratic feasts during the Renaissance era. Its texture is velvety, smooth, and delicate, while the taste has a slight tartness balancing the sweetness. This sorbet is perfect for refreshing on hot days, especially after a hearty dinner. It can be served as a standalone dessert or used to create layered treats like with vanilla ice cream or crispy wafers. Italians consider sorbet not just a treat but an embodiment of simplicity and sophistication that skillfully conveys the spirit of Mediterranean cuisine.
