Cranberries in sugar are a treat familiar to many since childhood. Bright ruby berries wrapped in crispy sugar crystals create a magical contrast of flavors: the tartness of fresh cranberries harmonizes with the sweetness of the sugar glaze. This recipe comes from Russian cuisine, where berries were often used to boost health and immunity. The dessert is easy to prepare – the berries are soaked in syrup and then rolled in coarse sugar, becoming crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Cranberries in sugar are perfect as a standalone treat or as a decoration for a festive table. They can be served with hot drinks, added to baked goods, or enjoyed for their pure, natural taste. Moreover, they make an ideal gift as beautifully dried berries look exquisite and appetizing.
