Cottage cheese pastries are a classic Russian baked good, loved for their softness and tenderness. Their history traces back to the traditions of homemade pies, where the dough envelops an airy cottage cheese filling. The pastries have a pleasant creamy flavor with vanilla notes, and their slightly crumbly texture harmonizes with the creamy filling. These aromatic treats are perfect for morning coffee, evening tea, or as a light snack. They are easy to prepare but always delight with their warm homemade taste. In the classic version, they are served slightly cooled to maintain the perfect texture – with a delicate filling and a slightly crispy golden crust.
