Fried pies with onions and eggs are a traditional dish of Russian cuisine that delights with its simple yet rich flavor. The fluffy yeast dough infused with the aromas of butter and vegetable oil becomes soft and airy, while the filling of boiled eggs and fresh green onions adds tenderness and a slight spiciness to the pies. This is an ideal treat for family gatherings, warm get-togethers with friends, or cozy home tea parties. They can be served hot when the filling melts in your mouth or cold – revealing their textural richness. Historically, such pies were popular among rural residents as their preparation does not require complex ingredients, and their taste and heartiness make them an excellent choice for lunch or a snack.
