Bean soup with smoked pork shank is a hearty and aromatic dish of Mexican cuisine, filled with the rich flavor of smokiness and the tender texture of beans. Historically, this soup was popular among peasants as it is easy to prepare and requires accessible ingredients. Bean, rich in protein, combined with smoked meat creates a perfect balance of nutrition and taste. A light creaminess is achieved through softly mashed beans, while sautéed onions add sweetness and depth of flavor. This soup is ideal for cold days when you want to warm up, and its rich aroma makes it a favorite for family lunches. Served hot, seasoned with salt and pepper to taste.
