Gather a 'bouquet garni' of charred parsnip, hot pepper, bay leaf, allspice, star anise, and clove. Boil the chicken with the spice pouch in water to make broth. It should reduce by half.

Dice the carrot, onion, and bell pepper into medium cubes. Sauté the vegetables in butter and add turmeric.
