Lohikeitto is a traditional Finnish creamy salmon soup that warms the soul and body on cold northern evenings. Its history roots in Finnish fishing culture where salmon was a staple food. Tender salmon fillet, aromatic broth, potatoes, and carrots create a harmony of flavors, while cream gives the soup a velvety texture. Light notes of fragrant pepper and fresh dill complete the taste, making it refined. This soup is often served with rye bread that highlights its richness. Lohikeitto is not just a dish but a true embodiment of Scandinavian simplicity and sophistication, perfect for cozy family lunches.
