Solanka with potatoes is a cozy dish of Russian cuisine, originating from old taverns where it served as hearty and warming food. This thick soup combines rich chicken broth, tender potatoes, smoked and meaty ingredients, pickles and tomato paste, creating a rich and multifaceted taste — simultaneously salty, sour and spicy. The harmony of ingredients makes it special: olives add a refined zest while sour cream and lemon balance the flavor with softness and a slight tang. Solanka is perfect for festive treats as well as everyday lunches, especially in cold weather. Its rich aroma and warming effect make this dish not just food but a true culinary delight.
